About the Bluegrass Pirates
Hal & Cindie
In 2018, the second week in December to be precise, Hal wandered over to what he thought was a potential jam site. Turns out a bluegrass band was performing on the stage. A gentleman walked over, having caught a glimpse of Hal’s Martin Guitar cap and introduced himself as the sound-man. “Do you play he asked? Hal replied yes. He invited Hal to take a seat. When the music concluded he introduced Hal to a number of folks. One of them was Cindie Breeze, a frequent performer with her Country Breeze Band.
Cindie, saw the hat and asked if he played guitar, he replied in the affirmative but then added he preferred banjo. Cindie was ecstatic, “we need a banjo player, want to join us tomorrow?” So, two weeks after landing in Florida Hal was in a country band.
Hal played in Cindie’s band for quite a while, then started the Bluegrass Pirates. The BGP’s have recently undergone a metamorphosis and it so happens Hal was looking for a bass player who could sing. Cindie is an amazing bass player and singer … seriously fantastic. She became a permanent member of the Bluegrass Pirates.
FYI: We are called the Bluegrass Pirates, because we pillage and pilfer music from numerous genre’s adding a bluegrass-ish hint to our eclectic mix of tunes.
